Manage Failover Clusters with Windows Admin Center.
Manual Failover. Obviously, any event that takes the active node down will bring one of the passive nodes online. But if you, for instance, want to do service on a currently active node, the cluster roles can be switched from the Failover Cluster Manager.
In this video, Robert McMillen talks about how to properly remove a virtual machine from the failover cluster manager. Adding a virtual machine is important but sometimes you also need to remove and make room for new virtual machines. The reason we want to do this is sometimes the cluster or the cluster role object becomes corrupt due to a hardware or software problem.
Welcome - (Voiceover) The iSCSI Target Storage Option is a new role in Windows Server 2012, and we can make that role highly available by adding it to Failover Cluster Manager.
A Hyper-V cluster is established by installing the Failover Cluster Role to each server node in the group. You then use the Failover Cluster Management tool to create your cluster and join server.
Create the failover cluster. If you choose to create the cluster by clicking on Create Cluster in the Failover Cluster Manager, you will be prompted again to select the cluster nodes. If you use the Create the cluster now using the validated nodes checkbox from the cluster validation wizard, then you will skip that step. The next relevant step is to create the Access Point for Administering the.
When using the Failover Cluster Manager, you should first validate your hardware configuration, and only after that can you start creating a failover cluster to enable Hyper-V High Availability. Note that if you would like to validate a set of unclustered servers, you need to know the names of those servers.
FIX: The process of pausing nodes and moving roles has been simplified by the new drain roles feature. By right-clicking a node in the Failover Cluster Manager, user can select “Pause” followed by “Drain Roles” which will set the node to a paused state and then move the failover groups to other nodes in the cluster.
